Dr Teck Keong Khong

General Medical Practitioner and Forensic Physician, and Parliamentary Candidate of the Conservative Party

Dr Teck Khong read medicine at Sheffield University and law at Cardiff University. Although his medical practice is in Leicester, Dr Khong also consults at the Out-of-Hours medical centre in Danetre Hospital, Daventry. Additionally, he is a forensic physician for the Northamptonshire Police.

He is a member of the Local Medical Committee, a past-president of the Leicestershire and Rutland Division of the BMA and a past-president of the Leicestershire Medico-Legal Society. Although he has not been selected for the 2010 General Election, he remains an approved parliamentary candidate of the Conservative Party.

Dr Michael Koon Fat Tang

Cosmetic Dental Surgeon

Michael, a member of Mensa, graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Commendation from Glasgow University in 2002 and in the same year published a research paper on Oral MRSA in the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy. He became a partner of a large six surgery dental practice in 2006 and gained his Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitoners (MFGDP) post graduate qualification from the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (Royal College of Surgeons) in 2007.

Michael has a special interest in innovative dentistry including Invisalign invisible orthodontics, Lumineers smile makeovers and dental implantology. He is keen on continual professional development and has attended many relevant post-graduate courses including those held in Harley Street, London. Michael has also completed an intensive implantology course in the influential Medical Faculty in Boston, USA and is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology. He is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr Helen Lee

Scientist and Inventor

Dr Lee is an outstanding scientist and inventor who left her very successful career in industry to dedicate her working life to improve the health of those living in developing countries. She formed the Diagnostics Development Unit and over the past decade has developed rapid tests for the detection of chlamydia and trachoma, a disease rife in the poorest countries causing three million cases of blindness each year.

In order to develop the technology for large-scale production, Helen set up the Diagnostics for the Real World in 2002. This company produces these life-saving tests for resource- limited countries.

Dr. Henry Lee

Scientific Advisor, Chinese Medicine

Dr. Henry Lee is head of Chinese Medicine Developments, Middlesex University, U.K.; founder and chair of the Chinese Medicine Association of Suppliers (CMAS); and scientific advisor to Save China's Tigers.

In 1996, Dr Lee persuaded most major Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) importers/suppliers to form the Chinese Medicine Association of Suppliers (CMAS), to accept a Code of Practice, a strict ethical and moral policy and cites regulations concerning endangered animals that disown any process involving cruelty to animals.

Founder, Save China's Tigers

Save China’s Tigers is a UK, US and Hong Kong based charity founded in 2000 by Beijing-born Li Quan. The charity’s aim is to raise awareness of the plight of the endangered Chinese tiger and to strive for its protection and preservation through public education, introduction and experimentation of advanced conservation models to China, and raising funds to support these initiatives.

Michael Chew Koon Chan, Lord Chan of Oxton

Paediatrician

The Singapore-born Lord Chan, who passed away at the beginning of 2006, was the House of Lords' only peer of Chinese origin. One of his medical specialities during his last decade as Liverpool University's professor of ethnic health had been the vulnerability of ethnic minorities.

Ping Hua

Research Scientist

Ping Hua is a research scientist and staff PhD candidate at the Optoelectronics Research Centre, the internationally renowned research institute at the University of Southampton. She conducts independent research into integrated optical sensors and sensor systems that apply to biology, chemistry and environmental monitoring systems.

In addition to her research work, Ping has been the chair of the Chinese Association of Southampton for a number of years.
