Dr Helen Lee

Dr Lee is an outstanding scientist and inventor who left her very successful career in industry to dedicate her working life to improve the health of those living in developing countries. She formed the Diagnostics Development Unit and over the past decade has developed rapid tests for the detection of chlamydia and trachoma, a disease rife in the poorest countries causing three million cases of blindness each year.
In order to develop the technology for large-scale production, Helen set up the Diagnostics for the Real World in 2002. This company produces these life-saving tests for resource- limited countries.

Dr. Henry Lee

Dr. Henry Lee is head of Chinese Medicine Developments, Middlesex University, U.K.; founder and chair of the Chinese Medicine Association of Suppliers (CMAS); and scientific advisor to Save China's Tigers.
In 1996, Dr Lee persuaded most major Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) importers/suppliers to form the Chinese Medicine Association of Suppliers (CMAS), to accept a Code of Practice, a strict ethical and moral policy and cites regulations concerning endangered animals that disown any process involving cruelty to animals.

Save China’s Tigers is a UK, US and Hong Kong based charity founded in 2000 by Beijing-born Li Quan. The charity’s aim is to raise awareness of the plight of the endangered Chinese tiger and to strive for its protection and preservation through public education, introduction and experimentation of advanced conservation models to China, and raising funds to support these initiatives.

Ping Hua

Ping Hua is a research scientist and staff PhD candidate at the Optoelectronics Research Centre, the internationally renowned research institute at the University of Southampton. She conducts independent research into integrated optical sensors and sensor systems that apply to biology, chemistry and environmental monitoring systems.
In addition to her research work, Ping has been the chair of the Chinese Association of Southampton for a number of years.
