Alice Lee

Actress / Writer / Producer

Alice Lee has been a television, stage and film actress since 2003 and has worked in Australia, Hong Kong, China and the UK. In Hong Kong, she has worked with many distinguished directors such as Tsui Hak and Wong Jing. She appeared in Stephen Fung’s Diary on the leading HK terrestrial broadcaster TVB, co-presented a chat show on Hong Kong Cable TV and interviewed the chef, Martin Yan (Yan Can Cook) for Martin Yan’s Hong Kong which was broadcast globally.

In 2008 she wrote, produced and performed her play Dragon Lady: Being Anna May Wong, which won several 4 and 5 star awards at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2008. In 2009 she also produced and performed the singing show, Shidaiqu: the Celebration of Chinese Pop Divas, which, through song, tells the stories of the three most celebrated female Chinese singers of three different eras. Shidaiqu was performed at the National Portrait Gallery and Asia House, as part of their Chinese New Year celebration programs. She is also an active member of True Heart Theatre whose most recent work includes a biographical play about a British Chinese family, Sweet Mandarin. She is also the co-writer of Piccadilly Revisited, a project by Chinatown Art Space which will be performed at The Royal Opera House in March 2010.

In addition to her professional work, she also has keen interest in promoting and supporting Chinese culture and causes. She served on the Committee of the Morecambe Bay Children’s Fund which helped raise much needed money to educate the orphans of the Morecambe Bay disaster in England.
