Anne Chau
Chairman, Glasgow Chinese Women’s Group
Anne Chau is the founder of the Glasgow Chinese Women’s Group, established in 1987, which has provided strong support for the Chinese women in Glasgow, especially those isolated because of language difficulties.
Her efforts have helped many families overcome problems, and she has been instrumental in increasing the confidence of many women in integrating themselves into local society. Anne is now honorary chairman, having been appointed in 1997 after stepping down as chairman in 1994, but still plays an active part in the group. She is also vice-chairperson of the management committee of the Glasgow Chinese Community Development Partnership.
Anne was a Finalist of The Pearl Award for Services to the Community in 2006.
