Jackson Ng 黄精明
Parliamentary Liaison Officer at UK Parliament, Solicitor Advocate
Jackson Ng is originally from The Netherlands but has spent the majority of his life living in the United Kingdom, in addition to having lived in Australia, Singapore and The Netherlands.
He is equally fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese and has a working knowledge of Dutch.
Jackson works very closely with The Lord Wei of Shoreditch at the House of Lords on various areas such as the British Chinese community, Britain - China related matters and has been involved in the setting up of the All Party Parliamentary Group on East Asian Businesses where he is now also serving as its Parliamentary Liaison Officer in the Houses of Parliament. Along with Lord Wei, he also spends a considerate amount of his time engaging with the British Chinese community and not-for-profit organisations. He is also assisting Lord Wei in co-designing social and civic projects which will look to help the British Chinese community.
Jackson read law at School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London) and the London School of Economics and Political Science (University of London). Following his professional qualification studies at the College of Law London, Jackson worked in an international PLC and as a Solicitor Advocate specialising in inward Chinese investment, Commercial Law, International Law and Litigation. He now also acts as a Consultant Solicitor Advocate to a British law firm and a Dutch international law firm based in Amsterdam, Beijing and Shanghai in his spare time.
From 2008 – 2011, Jackson was an executive member of the “Integration of British Chinese into politics” project (the BC Project), where his volunteer role encompasses actively researching various issues that affect the British Chinese community and businesses and to also inform, petition and campaign the BC Project’s findings to the various UK governmental departments concerned. To date, the BC Project has actively campaigned on behalf of the British Chinese community on the various issues that concern them ranging from immigration, problems faced by the catering trade to Britain’s relationship with China. Whilst with the BC Project, Jackson worked very closely with the All Party Parliamentary China Group (APPCG) and the All Party Parliamentary Group Chinese in Britain.
Jackson is also a member of the Conservative Party. He likes to play rugby and football in his spare time.
