Rebecca Yang Yuan-Cao

Rebecca Yang’s father died when she was only 18. His death thrust her into running the family business, which employed 40 people at the main factory. At the age of 22 she won the Miss Chongqing and Miss Photogenic of Miss China 2002 competitions and modelled for Chanel in China.
In 1999 Rebecca came to the UK to study Journalism, Film and Broadcasting Combined with Sociology at Cardiff University and was awarded the Best International Student of the Year Award. She then gained a postgraduate qualification in Advertising and the International Advertising Association Certificate. Rebecca was then offered a position at a specialist ethnic marketing agency where she was quickly promoted.
She now owns a television production and distribution company called Wild Grass Productions. Currently the company is working on a culture and English language teaching programme series for regional channels across China called Culture Clash.
Rebecca was the Winner of The Pearl Award for Most Promising Young Newcomer in 2005 and is based in London.
